We take you out to our homestay in Mai Chau, which lies amongt lush rice paddies. Enjoy the comforts of local home-style cooking and living, all in an amazing setting.
This trip also takes in gorgeous Pu Luong, a nature reserve made up of primarily tropical forests, local ethnic villages and layers of rice paddies terraces, making it a perfect place for trekking! Pu Luong literally translates to the highest peak of the village in Thai and it’s an area that very few have discovered!
Day 1 HANOI TO MAI CHAU (L, D)
Depart the hustle and bustle of Hanoi at 8am at our Original Hostel. If you’re staying here please be ready by 7.45am or 7.30am if you’re staying at Downtown. Your first stop is the lookout where you’ll get some amazing panoramic views of the entire Mai Chau Valley before arriving to homestay. Enjoy lunch in the wonderful surrounds of our homestay and we’ll take you on a guided bicycle ride through local villages and minority tribes. Learn about the local culture first hand and really get a feel for rural Vietnam. Later relax at the homestay and sit down for another delicious meal by our resident master chef Ms Tan, our homestay host!
Day 2: MAI CHAU – PU LUONG NATURE RESERVE (B, L, D)
Enjoy breakfast before we hop on the bus for a two-hour drive to Pu Luong for an awesome trek. The trek is roughly five hours taking you through rich forestry, countless rice fields and beautiful villages. You’ll get a chance to meet people from the local Thai and Hmong minorities as well as children who will be ready to greet you with high-fives and smiles! We’ll stop for lunch and a short break to stretch the legs before we tackle the last leg of the trek.
Enjoy a couple of well-earned beverages at the homestay and chill out while enjoying the peaceful surrounds. Or if you’re keen, why not show off your chef skills and help the family prepare dinner for you and the rest of the group!
Day 3: PU LUONG - MAI CHAU TO HANOI (B, L)
After breakfast, we’ll introduce you to some of the locals and take you through the village to get a glimpse of local farm life! We then head back to Mai Chau for a fun little ride on bamboo rafts along the river. Enjoy some lunch and then freshen up before we head back to Hanoi arriving around 6pm, just in time for the nightly activities!

*Please note we offer pillion options with a local driver for less experienced riders. This will give you the chance also to take in the amazing scenery and take pictures on the go whilst still experiencing the thrill of motorbiking in Vietnam! For a a full-day its 100,000vnd and 50,000 for half-day. This cost is paid locally.
